About Apex Door
Three generations of one family
Apex Door began in 1954, when Harry Ehrismann, a Dutch immigrant, took over the Norwalk overhead door shop and started building doors by hand. Harry ran it for 57 years.
His son Frank grew up in the trade and took the reins in 2011. In 2019 Frank passed it to his nephew Peter, who first learned the work as a teenager riding along in the truck with the old timers. Three generations later, the shop still runs the same way it always has.
